Einride Launches Daily Full-Time Autonomous Operations in Collaboration with GE Appliances

Einride, a freight mobility company, has deployed its autonomous vehicle for full-time operations in partnership with GE Appliances. The collaboration represents a significant advancement in integrating autonomous transportation into daily commercial activities.

The autonomous vehicle now transports finished goods daily between GE Appliances’ manufacturing facility and warehouse in Selmer, TN, emitting zero tailpipe emissions. This follows earlier successful pilot programs with GE Appliances in 2021 and 2022.

Henrik Green, General Manager of Autonomous Technologies at Einride, expressed pride in leading the industry in deploying autonomous technology for robust commercial use.

The initiative in Selmer includes an interoperability project, enhancing employee safety and efficiency. TaskWatch and Slip Robotics partner in dock operations, reducing loading times by 80%. Ericsson provides connectivity, and Tiffany Heathcott serves as Einride’s first remote operator.

GE Appliances emphasizes the importance of interoperability, streamlining processes, reducing emissions, and creating safer work environments. Harry Chase, Senior Director of Central Materials at GE Appliances, highlights the collaborative role of robotics and automation with people to improve job quality.

Einride, founded in 2016, operates one of the largest fleets of heavy-duty electric trucks globally.

GE Appliances manufactures and sells products under various brands and is committed to corporate citizenship.
