Omaha, NE – Werner Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: WERN), a leading transportation and logistics provider, announced the appointment of Nathan J. Meisgeier as President, effective January 5, 2024. The decision was made by the Company’s Board of Directors upon the unanimous recommendation of Chairman and CEO Derek J. Leathers. Mr. Meisgeier, 50, will also retain his role as Werner’s Chief Legal Officer.
A seasoned professional, Mr. Meisgeier joined Werner in 2005 and has played a pivotal role within the company, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. Having been a key member of Werner’s executive team since 2016, his transformative leadership qualities were acknowledged by Mr. Leathers.
In his previous role, Mr. Meisgeier demonstrated strategic vision, integrity, and a company-first servant leadership style. He played a crucial role in connecting with all associates across various departments, earning respect and trust throughout the organization.
Mr. Leathers expressed confidence in Mr. Meisgeier’s ability to bring Werner’s DRIVESM strategy to fruition, positioning the company at the forefront of the industry. Recognized as a top legal mind in transportation, Mr. Meisgeier chairs the American Trucking Associations’ Legal Reform Advisory Committee and holds several leadership positions within the industry.
